Kenny received his BSc from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014. He continued his research in the same university and completed his MPhil in 2017, under the supervision of Prof. Man-Kin Wong. In 2018, he moved to University of Oxford to start his DPhil and completed in 2022, supervised by Prof. Harry L. Anderson. After a short stay in the Anderson group as a postdoctoral research associate, he joined the Bayley and Qing groups in 2023, where he works on nanopore chemistry.
